5 HANDLING

All telecommunication equipment shall be treated as ”fragile electronic equipment” and shall

be handled will the utmost care. Any marking on the equipment or instructions following the

equipment shall be adhered to through the entire construction phase.

6 GENERAL EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION

Prior to start of installation of any type of equipment, i.e. central or field, indoor or outdoor, the

following requirements shall be met:

• all welding completed,

• fixing brackets or plinths complete including all cleaning and painting,

• all overhead work completed,

• all scaffolding and temporary supports removed to prevent accidental damage,

• earth and power available,

• all rooms cleaned

• All paintwork is completed

• Lighting is installed.

Furthermore, for equipment designed for indoor installation, the following additional

requirements shall apply:

• Equipment rooms must be protected against ingress of water and dust with entry points

sealed and heating/ventilation provided to maintain a temperature and relative humidity in

accordance with equipment specifications

• Unobstructed access to equipment rooms for transport of cabinets/cabinets/ equipment into

the equipment rooms.
